SUBMITTED BY: Rosemarie B. Jordan, Director of Finance SUMMARY OF INFORMATION: The City has been awarded $127,273 in Assistance to Firefighters grant funding from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. A local match of $12,727 is required and is available in General Fund Contingency. Funds will be used to purchase diesel exhaust capture systems at each Fire Station. FISCAL IMPACT: The $140,000 grant and local match will be used to purchase equipment not included in the operating budget. STAFF RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends accepting the Assistance to Firefighters grant and appropriating $127,273 in state grant revenue to account 10-032-0100-48335 and $127,273 to state grant expenditure account, 10-032-3210-55856 for the purpose state above. Transfer $12,727 from Contingency, 10-012-9110-59500, to state grant expenditure account, 10- 032-3210-55856 to cover the required local match.
