UNAPPROVED MINUTES
CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
November 8, 2017
A special meeting work session of the Council of the City of Salem, Virginia, was held at
8:30 a.m. for the purposes of taking a city facilities tour to assist with capital improvement and
maintenance planning. There being present were the following members of said Council, to
wit: Byron Randolph Foley (absent), William D. Jones, Jane W. Johnson, James A. Martin and
James D. Chisom; together with Kevin S. Boggess, City Manager; James E. Taliaferro, II,
Assistant City Manager, Rosemarie B. Jordan, Director of Finance; Tammy Todd, Assistant
Director of Finance, Mike Tyler, Director of Streets & Maintenance, John Shaner, Director of
Parks & Recreation, Wendy Delano, Director of Civic Center, Paul Bowles, Events Manager of
Civic Center, and Crystal L. LaBrie, Secretary to the City Manager; and the following business
was transacted:
WHEREAS, Council visited the following facilities: Spartan Field, Moyer Sports Complex,
Kiwanis Baseball Field, Parks & Rec Main office, and the Civic Center. The tour ended at 10:00
a.m.
