1. Taxicabs
Hold public hearing in accordance with Section 98 -94 of THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SALEM,
VIRGINIA, and consider issuance of Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity for the next
twelve (12) months, beginning April 1, 2014. (Date set for public hearing at January 27, 2014, meeting.
Advertised in the February 25, 2014, issue of The Roanoke Times.)
2. Virginia Juvenile Community Crime Control Act
Consider adoption of Resolution 1246 authorizing the City’s participation in the Virginia Juvenile
Community Crime Control Act.
3. Olde Salem Days 2014
Consider adoption of Resolution 1247 closing Main Street on September 13, 2014.
4. Salem Kiwanis Club
Consider request for donation ($508.60) equal to the amount of admissions tax paid in connection
with the Roy Stanley Memorial Shootout event held February 8, 2014.
5. Appropriation of Funds
Consider request to accept and appropriate the Virginia Pre Hospital Information Bridge (VPHIB)
Special Initiative Grant. (Audit-Finance Committee)
6. Appropriation of Funds
Consider request to accept and appropriate the 2013 State Homeland Security Program (SHSP)
Grant. (Audit-Finance Committee)
7. Closed Session
Consider request of City Manager to hold a closed session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2 -
3711 A (3) of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, to discuss property the City may wish to
purchase.
