Receive presentation from Peter Lampman, President, Virginia Amateur
Sports, Inc., thanking the City of Salem for its support of the 2012 Subway
Commonwealth Games of Virginia.
2. Salem School Board
Consider appointments to fill the expiring terms of Cindy Neathawk and
Michael Chiglinsky. (Public hearing held at September 24, 2012, meeting.)
3. Boards and Commissions
Consider appointments to fill vacancies on various boards and commissions.
4. Amendment to the City Charter
Consider ordinance on second reading amending Chapter 3, Section 3.2 of
the Charter of the City of Salem, Virginia, pertaining to Elections. (Passed on
first reading, October 8, 2012, meeting.)
5. Prepared Food & Beverage Tax
Consider an ordinance on second reading amending Chapter 82, Article IV,
Sections 82-101, 82-106, 82-110, 82-111, and 82-113, of the Code of the
City of Salem, pertaining to Tax on Prepared Food and Beverages. (Passed on
first reading, October 8, 2012, meeting.)
6. Transient Lodging Tax
Consider ordinance on second reading amending Chapter 82, Article V,
Sections 82-136, 82-137, 82-139, 82-140, 82-143, 82-144, and 82-146, of
The Code of the City of Salem, Virginia, pertaining to Transient Lodging Tax.
(Passed on first reading, October 8, 2012, meeting.)
