Comprehensive Plan Hold public hearing and consider adopting Resolution 1205 approving The 2012 Comprehensive Plan for the City of Salem. (Planning Commission recommends approval; notice advertised in the May 24 and 31 issues of The Roanoke Times) 2. Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance Hold public hearing and consider ordinance on first reading amending Chapter 106, Article III Use and Design Standards, Section 106=316.3© Accessory uses; residential use types and Article VI Definitions and Use Types, Section 106-602.1 Agricultural use types of The Code of the City of Salem, Virginia, pertaining to urban agriculture; also consider amending Chapter 106, Article II Use and Design Standards of the Code of the City of Salem, Virginia, by adding Section 106-318 Urban Agriculture. (Planning Commission recommends approval; notice advertised in the May 24 and 31 issues of The Roanoke Times) 3. Budget Adoption, 2012-2013 Consider ordinance on second reading adopting the budget for fiscal year 2012-2013. (Passed on first reading at May 29, 2012, meeting) 4. 2011-2012 Audit Consider closing certain City offices to the public on Monday, July 2, 2012, to facilitate annual audit. (Treasurer, Finance, Utility Collections, and Commissioner of the Revenue) (Audit-Finance Committee) 5. Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Consider adopting Resolution 1206 accepting a certified employer’s rate for Fiscal Year 2012- 2013. (Audit-Finance Committee) 6. Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Consider adopting Resolution 1207 requiring employee payment of five percent (5%) employee share. (Audit-Finance Committee) 7. Virginia Retirement System (VRS) Consider adopting Resolution 1208 concurring with the Salem School Division’s action for VRS employee rates. (Audit-Finance Committee) S1. City Code Amendment Consider ordinance on first reading to amend, revise, and reordain Chapter 14, Article II, Sections 14-38, 14-39, and 14-169, of THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SALEM, VIRGINIA, pertaining to animals.
