3. Tax Rates, Fiscal Year 2011-2012
Consider ordinance on first reading establishing tax rates for real estate and personal
property. (Effective July 1, 2011) (Audit-Finance Committee)
4. Personnel Pay Plan, Fiscal Year 2011-2012
Consider adopting Resolution 1181 amending/establishing the Schematic List of Job
Classes and Pay Ranges. (Effective July 1, 2011) (Audit-Finance Committee)
5. Book of Electric Rates
Consider adoption of Resolution 1182 amending schedule P.C.A. in the Book of
Electric Rates. (Audit-Finance Committee)
6. Solid Waste Transfer Station (tipping) Fees, Fiscal Year 2011-2012
Consider adoption of Resolution 1183 amending the tipping fees for the Solid Waste

8. City Code Amendment
Consider ordinance on first reading amending Chapter 14, Article IV., Division 1, of
THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SALEM, VIRGINIA, by enacting Section 14-105 pertaining
to confinement of animals in vehicles.
9. Roanoke College
Consider setting bond for erosion and sediment control, and stormwater
management for the new residence hall at Roanoke College. (Audit-Finance Committee)
10. Boards and Commissions
Consider appointments to fill vacancies on various boards and commissions.
Audit-Finance Committee meeting will be held Thursday, May 19, 2011, 8:00a.m. in
the City Manger’s Conference Room.
Council Work Session will be held at 6:30p.m. at the Salem Police Department
