AGENDA TOPICS
1. Mayor’s Youth Council
Induction ceremony for newly elected members and representatives of the
Mayor’s Youth Council. Also recognize graduating members of the Council.
2. City Bond Issue
Hold public hearing and consider an ordinance authorizing $29,990,000 in
General Obligation issued under Public Finance Act. (Audit-Finance Committee)
3. City Bond Issue
Consider adopting Resolution 1171 authorizing the issuance and form of the
bond. (Audit-Finance Committee)
4. Water Department
Receive report and consider authorizing contract to repair well at Water
Treatment Plant. (Audit-Finance Committee)
5. Reacquisition of Property
Consider the reacquisition of the 2.2 acre property located on Texas Street (Tax
Map # 149-1-4) in accordance with the purchase contract. (Audit-Finance Committee)
6. “Spice” and Synthetic Cannabinoids
Consider adopting Resolution 1172 declaring “spice” and synthetic
cannabinoids illegal in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
7. Salem School Board
Consider setting date for public hearing in accordance with Section 22.1-29.1 of
the Code of Virginia, 1950 as amended, regarding the expiration of terms for
Sally Southard and William Sinkler. (suggest November 8, 2010)
8. Boards and Commissions
Consider appointments to fill vacancies on various boards and commissions.
