1. Sale of Property
Hold public hearing to consider the sale of City of Salem real property
designated as an approximate 2.2 acre tract located at 1130 Lynchburg
Turnpike, being a portion of Tax Map 148-1-2. (Advertised in the May 18,
2009 issue of the Roanoke Times)
2. Tax Rates, Fiscal Year 2009-2010
Consider ordinance on first reading establishing tax rates for real
estate and personal property. (Effective July 1, 2009)
3. Budget Adoption
Hold public hearing and consider ordinance on first reading adopting the
budget for fiscal year 2009-2010. (Advertised in the May 21, 2009 issue of the
Salem Times Register.)
4. Personnel Pay Plan for Fiscal Year 2009-2010
Consider adopting Resolution 1138 establishing the Schematic List of Job
Classes and Pay Ranges for the ensuing fiscal year. (Effective July 1,
2009)
5. Miscellaneous Fees
Consider adopting Resolution 1139 establishing various miscellaneous
fees for fiscal year 2009-2010. (Effective July 1, 2009)
6. OPEB Trust Fund
Consider ordinance on first reading establishing the Other Post
Employment Benefits (OPEB) Trust Fund. (Audit-Finance Committee)
7. Roanoke College – Lucas Hall Addition/Renovation
Consider setting bond for erosion and sediment control and stormwater
management for the Lucas Hall Addition/Renovation project at Roanoke
College. (Audit-Finance Committee)
8. Boards and Commissions
Consider appointments to fill vacancies on various boards and
commissions.
9. Closed Session
Consider request of City Manager to hold a closed session pursuant to
provisions of Section 2.2-3711 A (3) of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as
amended, to discuss property the City may wish to purchase.
