Consider nominations for various VML Policy Committees
for 2008. (Continued from May 12, 2008, meeting.)
2. KDL of Virginia, Inc.
Hold public hearing to consider the request of KDL of
Virginia, Inc., to authorize a Rights-of-Way Use
Agreement. (Advertised in the May 15 and 22, 2008, issues of the Salem Times
Register.)
3. Budget Adoption
Hold public hearing and consider ordinance on first
reading adopting the budget for fiscal year 2008-2009.
(Advertised in May 22, 2008, issue of the Salem Times Register.)
4. Tax Rates, Fiscal Year 2008-2009
Consider ordinance on first reading establishing tax
rates for real estate and personal property. (Effective
July 1, 2008)
5. Total Action Against Poverty
Consider request for renewal of lease on the Old Norfolk
and Western Railway Passenger Station for Head Start
Program for period July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
6. Salem Museum
Consider setting bond for physical improvements and
erosion and sediment control for the Salem Museum
project. (Audit-Finance Committee)
7. Street Acceptance
Consider adoption of Resolution 1115 requesting the
Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner and the
Commonwealth Transportation Board to approve and accept
certain new streets for maintenance payments.

8. Personnel Pay Plan for Fiscal Year 2008-2009
Consider adopting Resolution 1116 amending/establishing
the Schematic List of Job Classes and Pay Ranges for the
ensuing fiscal year. (Effective July 1, 2008)
9. Fees for Emergency Medical Services
Consider adopting Resolution 1117 amending fees for
various levels of Emergency Medical Services.
10. Miscellaneous Fees
Consider adopting Resolution 1118 establishing various
miscellaneous fees for fiscal year 2008-2009. (Effective
July 1, 2008)
11. Boards and Commissions
Consider appointments to fill vacancies on various
boards and commissions.
12. Closed Session
Consider request of City Manager to hold a closed
session pursuant to provisions of Section 2.2-3711 A (3)
of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as amended, to consider
property the City may wish to sell.
