Agenda topics
1. Ductile Iron Pipe Research Association
Receive presentation from the Ductile Iron Pipe Research
Association inducting the City of Salem into the Cast Iron
Pipe Century Club.
2. Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance
Hold public hearing and consider ordinance on first reading
rezoning the property of Valley Associates LLC, property
owner, located at 1618 West Main Street (Tax Map # 139-4-5.1)
from LM Light Manufacturing District to HBD Highway Business
District. (Recommend approval, see page 3 of the Planning Commission minutes.)
3. Amendment to City Code
Consider an ordinance on first reading amending Chapter 106,
Article II, District Regulations, Section 106-320 of THE CODE
OF THE CITY OF SALEM, VIRGINIA pertaining to an urban forest
overlay district. (Recommend approval, see page 5 of the Planning
Commission minutes.)
4. Street Acceptance
Consider adoption of Resolution 1101 requesting the
Commonwealth Transportation Commissioner and the Commonwealth
Transportation Board to approve and accept certain new streets
for maintenance payments.
5. Taxicabs
Consider setting a public hearing in accordance with Section
98-94 of THE CODE OF THE CITY OF SALEM, VIRGINIA, for issuance
of Certificates of Public Convenience and Necessity for the
next twelve (12) months. (Suggest March 10, 2008)
6. Boards and Commissions
Consider appointments to fill vacancies on various boards and
commissions.
