1. Salem School Board
Receive presentation from the Chairman of the Salem School Board regarding
the 2007-2008 budget.
2. Amendment to the Zoning Ordinance
Hold public hearing and consider ordinance on first reading rezoning the
property of L. & M. Properties LLC, property owners, and Jackie & Debbie
Kanode, and Denton Willard, lessees, located in the 1400 block of East Main
Street and 100 block of Kesler Mill Road (Tax Map #’s 81 – 2 – 1 and 76 – 3
– 16) from LM Light Manufacturing District to HBD Highway Business
District. (Recommend Approval; see Page 1 of Planning Commission
minutes.)
3. Sale of City Property
Hold public hearing to consider the sale of City owned property located at
1101 Texas Street (Tax Map # 148 – 1 – 2). (Advertised in the April 12,
2007, issue of the Salem Times Register)
4. 2006 Public Improvement Bonds
Consider ordinance on second reading regarding the use of funds from 2006
Public Improvement Bonds. (Passed on first reading at March 26, 2007
meeting)
5. Regional Water Supply Planning Grant
Consider adopting Resolution 1093 electing to join other local governments to
develop a regional water supply plan.
6. Closed Session
Consider request of City Manager to hold a closed session pursuant to
provisions of Section 2.2-3711 A (3) of the 1950 Code of Virginia, as
amended, to discuss property the City may wish to sell.
7. Boards and Commissions
Consider appointments to fill vacancies on various boards and commissions.
