COUNCIL MEETING
September 30, 2007
A continued meeting of the Council of the City of
Salem, Virginia, was held in Daniels, West Virginia,
on September 30, 2007, at 8:00 a.m., there being
present the following members of said Council, to wit:
Howard C. Packett, John C. Givens, Jane W. Johnson,
John Christopher Clemens, and Byron R. Foley; with
Howard C. Packett, Mayor, presiding; together with
Forest G. Jones, City Manager; James E.
Taliaferro, II, Assistant City Manager and Clerk of
Council; Melinda J. Payne, Director of Planning and
Economic Development; Frank P. Turk, Director of
Finance, and Carolyn H. Barrett, Director of Human
Resources, and the following business was transacted:
It was noted that, in accordance with Section
4.6 (b) of The Charter of the City of Salem, Virginia,
this date and time had been designated as a continued
meeting of Council; and
WHEREAS, this meeting was continued from a
meeting of Council held Saturday, September 29, 2007;
and
WHEREAS, reports were received from City Staff
and discussion was held concerning City issues.
There being no further business to come before
the Council, the same on motion adjourned at
12:05 p.m.
