CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION
April 24, 2024
A work session of the Council of the City of Salem, Virginia, was held in Council
Chambers, City Hall, 114 North Broad Street, Salem, Virginia, on April 24, 2024, at 8:30
a.m., there being present the following members of said Council, to wit: Renée Ferris Turk,
Mayor; James W. Wallace, III, Vice-Mayor (participated remotely for part of meeting);
Councilmembers: Byron Randolph Foley, William D. Jones, and H. Hunter Holliday; with
Renée Ferris Turk, Mayor, presiding; together with Chris Dorsey, City Manager; Rob Light,
Assistant City Manager and Clerk of Council; Rosie Jordan, Director of Finance; Tammy
Todd, Assistant Director of Finance; and Crystal Williams, Assistant to the City Manager;
and the following business was transacted:
Mayor Turk reported that this date, place, and time had been set in order for the
Council to hold a budget work session; and
WHEREAS, a discussion was held regarding the FY 2024-2025 budget; and
WHEREAS, there were no other topics for discussion.
There being no further business to come before the Council, the work session was
adjourned at 12:44 p.m.
