1. Call to Order
A Special Meeting/Work Session of the Council of the City of Salem, Virginia was held in Council Chambers, City Hall, 114 North Broad Street, Salem, Virginia, on March 23, 2024, at 9:00 a.m., there being present the following members of said Council, to wit: Renée Ferris Turk, Mayor (participated remotely); James W. Wallace, III, Vice-Mayor; Council members: Byron Randolph Foley, William D. Jones, and H. Hunter Holliday; with James W. Wallace, III, Vice-Mayor, presiding; together with Chris Dorsey, City Manager; Rob Light, Assistant City Manager and Clerk of Council; Crystal Williams, Assistant to the City Manager; and Rosemarie Jordan, Director of Finance. Also present from the Salem City Schools were Superintendent Dr. Curtis Hicks and members of his administration staff; and the following business was transacted;
Vice- Mayor Wallace reported that this date, place, and time had been set in order for the Council to hold a work session and called the meeting to order; and

A. Salem City School Informational Budget Presentation
Informational presentation of the Salem City School District Fiscal Year 2025
budget. Dr. Hicks and his staff provided information on the School
Division’s Fiscal Year 2025 budget and presented an overview of the
priorities and functions of core Departments.
3. Adjournment
The meeting was adjourned at 11:33 a.m.
